ACAI Berry: Myths and Facts

We live in the world where everyone wants to stay healthy. No one wishes or desires for a slew of health problems. Everyone wants to enjoy life to the fullest, but in order to enjoy your life to the fullest it is must to stay healthy and fit. The formula is simple “stay healthy to survive to your fullest”.

In our day to day life, there seem to be all sorts of things pushed on our face in relation to health and nutrition. With so many things flowing in regarding nutrition and health, it becomes difficult to stay firm on any one of them, resulting in a mess up of everything.

Before going on to anything else let us first have a look at the most talked about ACAI berry for dealing with weight loss. This is a Mysterious fruit that needs great investigation. This weight loss ingredient appeared out of thin and gained massive popularity in a short span of time.

In the very first place, most people seem to pronounce it in a wrong manner. It is correctly pronounced as a-sigh-ee. This kind of berry is a native to the rain forests in South America and the demand for this kind of berry is so high at this point, that there are little to none left for the locals in the native area. There is tremendous export of this fruit, most of which is in the US itself.

The reason for its popularity is a fact that ACAI berries have a great source of antioxidants, fibers and phytochemicals known to fight weight loss and improve complexion. In some cases these berries are known to prevent cancer. But the reality is somewhat different as far as the magic of the ACAI berry is concerned.

The fruit does contain many antioxidants and phytochemicals but the antioxidants and phytochemicals are similar to the blueberries, grapes, cranberries, raspberries, tomato and other such fruits.

If a fruit has a lot of pigments, it indicates that there are a lot of phytochemicals and antioxidants present in it. The thing it there is no need to spend a lot of money on the imported ACAI berry when there are other fruits with the same benefits available right there for you.

Weight loss is an issue that most people deal with these days and ACAI berry is known to enhance weight loss.

But all this is a myth, here are reasons for it. 

Replacing you snack of chip, protein bar or even cookies will definitely help you with weight loss as ACAI berries have fewer calories and more fiber than those options. But it is not the ACAI berry that is causing weight loss; in fact it is the high fiber, low calorie snack causing effective weight loss. The same results can even be seen on replacing that snack with strawberries, celery or other type of fruit or veggies.

The supplements or pills with ACAI berry also have the same chemical components as the fruit for weight loss. The only thing is that there are a few chemicals following them. There has been no convincing study, research or evidence suggesting that ACAI berry improves weight loss. When it comes to buying or using a product, few things are to be kept in mind and worth a try as they might be helpful for effective weight loss.

First and foremost, having a glass of water before meal will simply make you eat less. Yet if you are extreme hungry and this doesn't work, then any of the will do the trick for you. More fiber present in the snack makes it easy to lose weight. There is no need of special bars for this.

It is essential to think first before picking up anything. The art is not to simply following and accepting what society tells you and staying away from these myths, as they all seem to be rigged.
